QUEENS HEALTH & NUTRITION CENTER
Offering affordable healthcare to the residents of the area it’s located in, this facility provides medical and dental care with a focus on nutrition. This design utilizes the concept of a town square to inject natural daylight and nature into the space as well as provide a basis for circulation. A pavilion is inserted into the center of an otherwise non-descript square building. The healthcare facility provides a light well that streams daylight into areas normally devoid of natural light. The strong diagonal counterpoint symbolically presents the angle of the sun’s rays while also providing a pathway to the light well in a compression and release manner.
